Are you Highly Sensitive?

Are you a Highly Sensitive Person?

When you were growing up, were you frequently accused  of being "too sensitive" by family members, teachers, friends and others?  Perhaps it was not all that clear what they meant, but you may have heard it enough to simply take that label as proof that there was something wrong with you.  After all, how many times were those words said with a tone of appreciation?  The possibility of being valued for this trait, and having the richness of your experience understood probably felt as remote as becoming a charismatic rock star.

It's truly unfortunate that sensitivity is still seen by some as a liability .  That isn't so in other cultures, for instance, in Japan.  You can participate in a quiet and powerful revolution by embracing and trusting your sensitivity.  Author Elaine Aron, PhD, has helped sensitive souls out a great deal, and enlightened our culture, by writing several books based on he.  To learn what being highly sensitive actually means, and to see if you are part of the 20% of people who are endowed with this termperament, you can take her self-test:
